Notes

  • Signs can set another limit. A car or motorcycle towing a trailer, including a caravan, is limited to 80 km/h unless it meets the conditions for 100 km/h on motorways (section 43(3) and (4)).
  • A motortrafikvej is a road with motorway-type rules but not full motorway status. The statute allows a higher limit for a stretch where traffic flow allows it, up to 100 km/h on a motortrafikvej.
  • Signs can set a lower limit. Cars and motorcycles towing a trailer are limited to 80 km/h, or 100 km/h on motorways where the ministerial conditions are met (section 43(3) and (4)). The statute text is the consolidated act of 26 November 2024; borger.dk gives the same three general limits.
