Notes
- The rider and every passenger aged 15 or over must wear a fastened helmet while riding. The rider must make sure that passengers aged 5 to 14 wear one, unless the seat has a seat belt. The duty does not apply when riding in a car park, service station, workshop area or in similar circumstances.
- These are the starting ages for the licence categories. Other age requirements can apply to licences taken as part of training or with earlier experience, and for conscripts and mechanics.
- Category A can be obtained at 22 with two years of experience in category A2 and a practical test on a large motorcycle.
- Dipped beam (or fog lights or special daytime running lights instead) must be used on motor vehicles when driving outside the lighting-up time, that is in daylight.
