Notes
- Applies to a passenger car, a motorcycle or a car up to 3,500 kg maximum permitted weight. A bus meeting the special requirements is limited to 100 km/h on motorways, 70 km/h on other roads outside built-up areas and 50 km/h in built-up areas. Other motor vehicles and vehicle combinations are limited to 80 km/h on motorways, 70 km/h on other roads outside built-up areas and 50 km/h in built-up areas (§ 26(1)(a/1)-(b)).
- If a speed-limit sign shows more than 90 km/h outside built-up areas (or more than 50 km/h inside them), a passenger car, motorcycle or car up to 3,500 kg may drive up to the speed on the sign (§ 26(2)). A lower maximum speed entered in the vehicle's registration document applies instead (§ 26(3)).
- The KRESZ has no separate dual-carriageway category. An expressway (autóút) is a road marked with an expressway sign (Appendix 1, II, point m). The same vehicle-type limits as on other roads apply (§ 26(1)).
