Notes
- Sweden exempts domestic (sub)urban and regional services of less than 150 km from Articles 8, 9(1) and 17 to 20, so Articles 18 and 19 do not apply to them (Commission table, 9 July 2026). The values below apply to other services, such as longer domestic journeys and international ones. Passenger rights on exempt services are not covered here.
- Where a delay of 60 minutes or more is expected at the final destination, the railway undertaking must offer the passenger a choice between reimbursement and continuation or re-routing (Article 18).
- The percentages are minimum amounts of the ticket price (Article 19(1)).
- Transportstyrelsen says it supervises only five articles (6(4), 10, 14, 26 and 27) and the Swedish Consumer Agency the rest, including refunds and compensation. Passengers should complain to the railway undertaking first.
