  • A yearly record-keeping fee of SEK 250 is also charged to anyone registered on 1 January of that year (TSFS 2024:78).
  • Stated for registration through the Drönarsidan e-service; the organisation must be based in Sweden and a private person registered as resident in Sweden. Age requirements for remote pilots and operators are set in TSFS 2020:55.
  • Since 1 January 2026 it is a criminal offence to fly a drone of 250 g or more without a drone licence.
  • Under 15, a person may fly only with a valid drone licence while supervised by a remote pilot over 16 who also holds a valid drone licence.
  • Applies to operators who use drones under 20 kg only for leisure, display or recreation. Other drone operations fall under Regulation (EC) No 785/2004.
  • Transportstyrelsen states that drone operations other than leisure, display or recreation use of drones under 20 kg are covered by the insurance requirement in Regulation (EC) No 785/2004; leisure use of a drone of 20 kg or more falls outside the exemption it names.
  • Measured from the closest point of the ground. Within 50 m of an artificial obstacle taller than 105 m, you may fly up to 15 m above it if its owner asks for this.
