Notes

  • These are the quantities Swedish Customs takes into account under the Alcohol Tax Act and Tobacco Tax Act, not hard limits. Goods must be for personal or family use and carried by the traveller; the customs officer makes an overall assessment. Minimum age is 20 for alcohol and 18 for tobacco.
  • The 90 litres of wine include up to 60 litres of sparkling wine. Fortified wine has its own figure of 20 litres. Åland and the Canary Islands are treated like non-EU countries.
  • Any one of 200 cigarettes, 100 cigarillos, 50 cigars, 250 g smoking tobacco or 250 g other tobacco, or a proportional mix. Requires 18 years of age and either at least 20 hours abroad or arrival by commercial air transport (otherwise 40 cigarettes or 20 cigars or 100 g of other tobacco).
  • Spirits 1 litre or fortified wine 2 litres, plus wine 4 litres and beer 16 litres. Requires 20 years of age and either at least 20 hours abroad or arrival by commercial air transport. The same amounts apply to Åland and the Canary Islands.
