Notes

  • A driving licence for group AM can be granted from age 15, with the written consent of the legal representative (§ 83(3)). Group AM is the group for mopeds (Directive 2006/126/EC, Art. 4).
  • A licence for any other group except T also entitles the holder to drive group AM vehicles (Act 361/2000 § 81(2)). The Directive text is the category definition; the Czech group definitions were not read separately.
  • Compulsory liability insurance applies to vehicles entered in the road vehicle register (Act 168/1999 § 1(2)), but no official source read says whether every moped must be registered.
  • Registration with a plate applies to road vehicles whose technical fitness is subject to approval (Act 56/2001 § 6-7), but no official source read states how mopeds are treated.
  • This is the upper design-speed limit of licence category AM; vehicles at or below 25 km/h are outside the category.
