Notes
- A police officer may call on a person to prove identity in the listed cases (for example a suspect, or someone near the scene of an offence); a person who refuses or cannot do so may be taken in to establish identity. The Police Act does not name the document. The text of the ID Card Act that was read does not say that a card must be carried at all times.
- A citizen who is at least 15 and has permanent residence in the Czech Republic must hold an ID card. Breaching this is an offence (§ 16a(1)(a)). The text on the identity portal does not state the date of the version.
- The Ministry of the Interior says an EU citizen needs a valid passport or identity card to enter and stay without a visa.
