Notes
- An electrically assisted bicycle is a bicycle if its motors total at most 250 W continuous rated power, work only while pedalling and cut out by 25 km/h. The motors may work without pedalling at up to 6 km/h.
- No official source stating this was read, so no value is given. Silence in the Acts read is not treated as a rule.
- The Act says a cyclist and a bicycle passenger "must generally" (yleensä) wear a protective helmet while riding. Whether a penalty applies was not checked.
- Section 18 sets where a bicycle is ridden. A separate rule on using cycle paths was not found in the text read.
- Fast e-bikes (speed pedelecs) were not researched from an official source for Finland.
