Notes
- The Vehicle Act lists the registration state's plates and nationality sign (kansallisuustunnus) as a condition for using a foreign-registered vehicle in Finland. The text read does not say whether the strip on an EU plate satisfies it; Regulation (EC) No 2411/98 article 3 applies to EU vehicles.
- Under Article 3 of Regulation (EC) No 2411/98, member states that require a sign must recognise the sign on the left of an EU plate.
- Finnish plates carry FIN in the EU strip as set out in Regulation (EC) No 2411/98. A separate white oval FIN sign is needed in international traffic only if the plates lack the nationality sign.
