Notes
- An electric-assist bicycle counts as a bicycle only if its motor is electric and meets the assist-force standard. A motorised vehicle that does not meet it falls outside the bicycle definition.
- The standard caps the assist ratio below 24 km/h and requires that no assist force is added at 24 km/h or more.
- The assist standard read sets assist ratios, not a motor power figure.
- No minimum age for riding a bicycle was found; the law was not searched further.
- A licence is required to drive a motor vehicle or an ordinary moped; a compliant assisted bicycle is a bicycle.
- Registration and insurance rules for bicycles were not read.
