Notes

  • As a rule food can be brought when travelling in the EU. Pork, wild boar meat and products containing them from countries with African swine fever (including Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) may only be imported if the packaging bears the oval EU identification mark; a wild boar shot in an affected area may not be imported.
  • Meat, meat products, milk and dairy products cannot be brought from outside the EU; the page names the limited allowances for infant food and fish and the exception for Norway, Iceland and Switzerland.
  • The page does not name Great Britain separately, so no value is shown.
  • Up to 2 kg of infant formula, baby food and food needed for specific medical reasons may be brought from outside the EU.
  • From outside the EU, 20 kg in total of fresh or processed fish, shellfish and roe, or alternatively one gutted fish with no weight limit.
  • Food of animal origin may be brought from Norway, Iceland and Switzerland under the same restrictions as within the EU. Fresh fruit and vegetables from Norway and Iceland need a phytosanitary certificate; from Switzerland they are unrestricted.
