Notes

  • Cannabis herb and resin are listed as narcotic drugs (group I-N) in the Minister of Health's list. Possession contrary to the Act is a criminal offence. For a small quantity kept for own use, prosecutors can discontinue proceedings, but the Act does not make such possession lawful.
  • The Act does not define a "small quantity". The cannabis herb and resin are in the narcotic drugs list (rows 113 and 188 of the group I-N table in annex 2).
  • Growing cannabis other than fibre hemp (up to 0.3% THC) is prohibited except for the licensed pharmaceutical cultivation in art. 49a. Growing it contrary to the Act carries up to 3 years in prison.
  • The Act's offences cover possession, trade, supply and cultivation. A separate rule on use in public was not found in the text read.
  • Cannabis herb and extracts may be pharmaceutical raw material for compounded medicines, after marketing authorisation by the President of the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products. These medicines are supplied on prescription.
