Notes

  • Under-21s may not possess, purchase or attempt to purchase tobacco products (§ 1005).
  • The ban covers common areas of places of public access, defined in § 1741(2), and all enclosed indoor places in lodging establishments (§ 1742(a)(2)). It also covers tobacco substitutes such as e-cigarettes.
  • Nicotine pouches are not named in the federal text. Under federal law any product containing nicotine from any source is a tobacco product that retailers may not sell to anyone under 21; the state's own statute was not checked for this rule.
  • The ban is linked to the child seat rules: children under 2 in a rear-facing seat and children under 5 in a harnessed seat. The official site did not respond, so the text was read from an Internet Archive snapshot.
