Last reviewed: 9 October 2026
In short: On Saskatchewan park land, fireworks may not be possessed or discharged without the prior written consent of the minister. The minister or executive director can also issue orders under The Wildfire Act prohibiting or restricting fireworks for a specified period. No standing provincial age, sale-period or use-period rule has been verified; the federal age rules apply and municipal by-laws may set further rules.

Notes
- No provincial or territorial rule on consumer fireworks could be verified. The federal rules apply (aged 18 or over; see the Canada page) and municipal by-laws may set sale periods, use periods and banned places.
- The Wildfire Act s. 41(1)(a): the minister or the executive director may issue an order prohibiting or restricting the discharge of fireworks during a specified period, where considered necessary to limit the risk of starting a fire or to protect life, property or the environment. The order must be made public (s. 41(3)). Orders change; check the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency for current orders. No provincial age, sale-period or use-period rule was found; municipal by-laws apply.
- The Parks Regulations, 1991, s. 57(1)(m), read 9 October 2026 in the Publications Centre consolidation amended to Sask. Reg. 27/2025 (the document notes that the consolidation is not official). The same subsection lists firecrackers, explosives, rockets and sky or flying lanterns. Outside park land, Wildfire Act orders and municipal by-laws apply.
