Fuegos artificiales en Nueva Escocia (2026)

Última revisión: 9 de octubre de 2026

En breve: In Nova Scotia fireworks are not permitted in areas where a burn ban is in effect, which the province shows on its daily BurnSafe map. In provincial parks, fireworks may not be possessed or ignited without a park attendant's permission. No provincial age, sale-period or use-period rule has been verified; the federal age rules apply and municipal by-laws may set further rules.

Notas

  • No provincial or territorial rule on consumer fireworks could be verified. The federal rules apply (aged 18 or over; see the Canada page) and municipal by-laws may set sale periods, use periods and banned places.
  • Nova Scotia news release of 7 July 2026. Areas shown in red on the provincial BurnSafe map are under a burn ban, and fireworks and pyrotechnics are then not permitted. The release says the restriction applies to consumer fireworks sold at retail, display fireworks and pyrotechnic special effects, that the map is updated daily, that wildfire risk season runs from 15 March to 15 October, and that non-compliance with the advisory carries a fine of $25,000 under the Fire Safety Act. The Fire Safety Regulations (N.S. Reg. 48/2003, unofficial consolidation) only cover the handling of display fireworks and pyrotechnics (s. 5.1.1.3).
  • Provincial Parks Regulations, s. 25(2), in the Registrar of Regulations' unofficial consolidation amended to N.S. Reg. 120/2025 (effective 17 June 2025), read 9 October 2026. The rule covers provincial parks only; outside parks, the burn-ban rule and municipal by-laws apply.
