Higher local minimum wagesEmployeesCities and counties may not require private employers to pay a local minimum wage (Fla. Stat. 218.077). Notes

  • The constitution raised the rate by $1.00 each 30 September until it reached $15.00 on 30 September 2026. The US Department of Labor's state page (updated 1 July 2026) still showed $14.00, which was the rate until that date. Some local governments set rates above the state minimum; the US Department of Labor page does not show these.
  • From 30 September 2027 the rate is adjusted for inflation (CPI-W) and each adjusted rate takes effect on the following 1 January. The amount is not known in advance.
