Notes
- State law does not use the European categories F1 to F4. "Yes" here means that state law lets the public buy and use consumer fireworks (the class 1.4G devices regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission) beyond sparklers and novelties. Possession must be obtained from a licensed retailer, manufacturer or wholesaler (§ 3743.45(A)).
- A county (for unincorporated areas), a township or a municipality may restrict the dates and times of discharge or ban it (§ 3743.45(D)). Noise, disturbance and disorderly-conduct laws still apply (§ 3743.45(E)). A discharge is not a public exhibition (§ 3743.45(C)). A person may not negligently discharge fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (§ 3743.65(G)).
