Cannabis law in Quebec (2026)

Last reviewed: 9 October 2026

In short: Quebec sets the minimum age at 21, with 30 g of dried cannabis (or equivalent) allowed in public and 150 g in total across non-public places. Growing cannabis for personal use is prohibited. Only the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) sells cannabis, and smoking or vaping is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor spaces open to the public. The SQDC sells up to 30 g per visit, and all drivers have zero tolerance for any detectable cannabis in their saliva.
