Notes
- Fire Safety Regulations (EC2025-657) s. 4, in force 2 August 2025, made under the Fire Safety Act. No person may sell, offer for sale, give, possess or store fireworks, or fire or set them off, except in accordance with s. 4. A Fire Marshal permit is required for storage, for sale to a person, and for holding a public or private display; the Fire Marshal may issue it when the proposed activity is not likely to endanger public safety, and may attach conditions. The earlier Fire Prevention Act Regulations (EC15/85) were revoked on 2 August 2025 (Table of Regulations). The federal age rules also apply.
- No provincial or territorial rule on consumer fireworks could be verified. The federal rules apply (aged 18 or over; see the Canada page) and municipal by-laws may set sale periods, use periods and banned places.
