In short: Licence applicants pass fitness exams and an exam on the Mobility Law, and licences are valid for up to three years. A provisional licence for minors is available from age 16 to under 18, valid for up to one year, with a parent or guardian signing a commitment letter. Valid licences from other states, Mexico City or abroad can be used for the vehicle type they state.
