In short: In Campeche the Reglamento of the state traffic law obliges drivers and passengers of all vehicles to use seat belts. Children under 5 must travel in the rear seat in a special child seat.

- The duties come from the Reglamento of the state traffic law (articles 50 and 71); the Ley de Movilidad y Seguridad Vial del Estado de Campeche itself has no belt or child seat provision. Municipal rules may differ.
- The texts read (Reglamento, Ley de Vialidad, Tránsito y Control Vehicular, Ley de Movilidad y Seguridad Vial) do not state a rule on rear-facing child seats and an active front passenger airbag.
