Notes
- Art. 84 II e) of the Reglamento bans drivers of motor vehicles from using a mobile phone or any communication device while the vehicle is moving; any handling must be done with the vehicle stopped. Text read: the original gazette publication of 10 January 2018. The amending decrees of 29 June 2018, 19 April 2019 and 23 December 2022 were read and do not change Art. 84; the decree of 28 August 2019 and any later decree were not read.
- The provision covers any communication device while the vehicle is moving and does not mention hands-free use, so no value is given.
- The table under Art. 84 sets 30 to 35 times the daily UMA for this offence; the lowest amount is shown (30 x 117.31 = 3,519.30). A vehicle-removal penalty is not attached to this row.
- The same table assigns 3 penalty points on the driving licence.
